The 5 days of the Extraordinary Object

From June 8 to 12, 2022, the 45th edition celebrates its Golden Jubilee this year.
The event, awaited by art lovers, will be held in this historical place of the capital, a favorite playground where, as we know, lived or worked illustrious personalities of the world of arts and culture – Juliette Recamier, Charles Baudelaire, Amedeo Modigliani, Alexandre Dumas, Jean-Auguste Ingres, Max Ernst, Jacques Lacan or, closer to us Serge Gainsbourg. These emblematic characters have contributed to give a particular aura to this district of the left bank, which has seduced and still seduces generations of merchants who have succeeded.
Gathered between the rue du Bac, rue de Beaune, rue de Lille, rue Montalembert, rue des Saints-Pères, rue de l’Université, rue de Verneuil and quai Voltaire – between the Louvre Museum and the Musée d’Orsay-Giscard d’Estaing -, these artists, grouped together within the association created in 1977, will be eager, as they are every year in June, to share their latest nuggets, and to prepare a program rich in surprises for the visitors.
Some 78 galleries – loyal to the event or newcomers – participate in the event. Various specialties will be represented during this German-Pratine tour. Each gallery will unveil an artist, a work or an object selected for its extraordinary character. Whether they are collectors or not, visitors will be able, thanks to this eclectic tour, to find THE rare piece: ceramics, jewelry, clocks, silverware, antiques, old paintings, marine objects, decorative arts, Chinese art, furniture from the Haute Époque or the 18th century, modern or contemporary creations… A journey to the heart of Paris through 7000 years of history and rare objects.
